It’s Not the Gear, It’s The Player.

Your Sound is In You and Your Fingers, Not In Your Gear.

You’ve probably heard things before like:

“Your guitar sound is not in your equipment, it’s in your fingers”, or
“You can hear one’s personality in 1 note”
“You can tell a person’s personality in their playing”

In following video, Joe Satriani plays on a cheap Pignose Strat, through a little Peavey amp, in someone’s living room, and still sounds exactly like Joe Satriani.

A fun read about that Joe Satriani video

A Good read About The Hands vs. Gear Debate
