ZOT Zin Guitar Lessons and GuitarVoyage Policies

Effective September 22, 2026

These policies apply to private lessons, group lessons, lesson packages, 10-Minute Guitar Coaching Sessions, and gift certificates for private lesson packages purchased through ZOT Zin Guitar Lessons or GuitarVoyage, both operated by ZOT Zin Music LLC. By checking the acceptance box and completing payment, the purchaser confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these policies. If the student is under 18, the purchaser confirms that they are the student's parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise authorized to agree on the student's behalf.

Policies for 30 Minute, 60 Minute, and Group Lessons

THIS SECTION APPLIES ONLY TO 30-MINUTE PRIVATE LESSONS, 60-MINUTE PRIVATE LESSONS, AND GROUP LESSONS. IT DOES NOT APPLY TO 10-MINUTE GUITAR COACHING SESSIONS.

Payment and Lesson Reservations

A new student must purchase and pay for the first lesson BEFORE THE LESSON IS BOOKED. No lesson time is reserved or confirmed until payment has been received. Once the appointment is booked, THE PAYMENT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. If the student gives at least 48 hours' notice, the payment may be transferred to one rescheduled appointment. If the student cancels with less than 48 hours' notice or does not attend, the student forfeits the payment and receives no refund or replacement lesson.

Beginning with the second lesson, a returning student purchases at least four lessons or one of the available lesson packages in advance. Payment for the next block or package is due ON THE DAY OF THE STUDENT'S FINAL ALREADY-PAID LESSON. Paying that day ensures continuity and allows the student to retain the regular weekly time slot.

Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Lateness

A missed private or group lesson may be rescheduled only if the student cancels AT LEAST 48 HOURS BEFORE the scheduled start time, BY PHONE OR EMAIL (NO TEXTS). A cancellation is effective when it is received.

A lesson cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed without notice, is charged in full or deducted from the student's package. No refund or replacement lesson is provided for a late cancellation or no-show.

A lesson cancelled on time may be rescheduled to a mutually available time. Rescheduled appointments remain subject to instructor availability.

If a student arrives late, the lesson still ends at the originally scheduled time. THE MISSED TIME IS NOT MADE UP, AND NO PRICE ADJUSTMENT IS PROVIDED. If the instructor must cancel, the lesson will be rescheduled or credited to the student.

Group Lessons

Group-lesson fees are paid in advance. If one or more group members cannot attend, the available students may still take the lesson, but the group price does not change. The 48-hour cancellation rule applies to the group appointment as a whole.

Rates and Discounts

Current lesson rates and package discounts are listed on the Tuition and Rates page or stated in the written offer or invoice provided at purchase. Package discounts have no cash value and may not be transferred or combined with another promotional offer unless the offer expressly allows it.

Lesson Packages and Refunds

Lessons in a package do not have to be taken in consecutive weeks. Students may spread out their lessons, subject to mutually available appointment times. Consistent lessons are strongly recommended because students generally make faster progress when they meet regularly.

NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN FOR LESSONS THAT WERE NOT CANCELLED ON TIME. NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN IF A STUDENT DECIDES TO DISCONTINUE LESSONS AFTER PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE FOR A FOUR-LESSON BLOCK, A LESSON PACKAGE, OR ANY OTHER PACKAGE ARRANGEMENT. These terms do not limit any rights that cannot legally be waived.

GIFT CERTIFICATES FOR PRIVATE LESSON PACKAGES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND MAY NOT BE REDEEMED FOR CASH, EXCEPT WHERE REQUIRED BY LAW. THE RECIPIENT MUST READ AND ACCEPT THESE POLICIES BEFORE THE FIRST LESSON IS BOOKED. Once redeemed, all scheduling, cancellation, and package policies apply to the recipient.

Policies for 10 Minute Guitar Coaching Sessions

THIS SECTION APPLIES ONLY TO THE $25 10-MINUTE GUITAR COACHING SESSION. THE 48-HOUR CANCELLATION RULE FOR REGULAR LESSONS DOES NOT APPLY TO THIS SERVICE.

What the Session Includes

A 10-Minute Guitar Coaching Session costs $25, is paid in advance, and LASTS NO MORE THAN TEN MINUTES. The session covers ONE CLEARLY DEFINED GUITAR OR MUSIC QUESTION OR TOPIC. Sessions take place on Zoom unless another arrangement is confirmed in writing.

The student should email the question and any helpful photo, recording, video, music, or link before the appointment. If the question is broader than can reasonably be addressed in ten minutes, the instructor will address the most useful part within the available time and recommend an appropriate next step. Purchasing a session DOES NOT GUARANTEE IMMEDIATE OR SAME-DAY AVAILABILITY; the appointment will be scheduled for the earliest mutually available time.

Scheduling Changes, No Shows, and Lateness

Once the appointment time is confirmed, THE $25 PAYMENT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. The session may be rescheduled once if notice is received by email before the scheduled start time. A STUDENT WHO DOES NOT ATTEND AND DOES NOT PROVIDE NOTICE BEFORE THE START TIME FORFEITS THE SESSION AND PAYMENT. A student who arrives late receives only the time remaining in the scheduled ten-minute period.

Technology

The student is responsible for having a working internet connection, Zoom access, and functioning audio and video equipment. Time lost because of the student's connection or equipment is not added to the session. If the instructor's equipment or connection prevents the session from being completed, the unfinished time will be rescheduled at no additional charge.

Recording and Materials

If the session is conducted on Zoom, it will ordinarily be recorded so the student can receive a copy. IN-PERSON SESSIONS ARE NOT RECORDED. Unforeseen technical problems may prevent a recording from being captured and do not change the session fee. By purchasing and attending a Zoom session, the student and purchaser consent to the recording. For a student under 18, the parent or legal guardian gives this consent.

THE RECORDING, WRITTEN SUMMARY, AND ANY SUPPLIED LESSON MATERIALS ARE FOR THE STUDENT'S PERSONAL USE ONLY AND MAY NOT BE SOLD, PUBLISHED, POSTED ONLINE, OR REDISTRIBUTED WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM ZOT ZIN MUSIC LLC.

Credit Toward Additional Lessons

The following upgrade benefits apply only when the next lesson or package is purchased WITHIN SEVEN DAYS AFTER THE 10-MINUTE SESSION:

  • For 60-minute private lessons, the full $25 may be applied once toward one 60-minute lesson or a 60-minute lesson package.
  • A 10-lesson package of 60-minute lessons also receives an additional $50 discount.
  • A 20-lesson package of 60-minute lessons also receives an additional $100 discount.
  • For 30-minute private lessons, the full $25 may be applied once toward the next 30-minute lesson or 30-minute lesson package.

These credits and additional discounts are applied on top of the package discounts already included in the applicable offers. Each $25 coaching payment may be credited only once, has no cash value, is not transferable, and may not be combined with another promotional offer unless expressly stated in writing.

Policies That Apply to All Lessons

THIS SECTION APPLIES TO REGULAR PRIVATE LESSONS, GROUP LESSONS, AND 10-MINUTE GUITAR COACHING SESSIONS.

Recordings and Lesson Materials

Except for a recording provided as part of a 10-Minute Guitar Coaching Session, a student may not record a lesson without the instructor's prior permission.

ANY AUTHORIZED RECORDING, HANDOUT, NOTATION, VIDEO, WRITTEN SUMMARY, OR OTHER LESSON MATERIAL IS PROVIDED FOR THE STUDENT'S PERSONAL EDUCATIONAL USE AND MAY NOT BE SOLD, PUBLISHED, POSTED ONLINE, OR REDISTRIBUTED WITHOUT WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM ZOT ZIN MUSIC LLC.

Conduct and Property Damage

The instructor may end a lesson and terminate future lessons if a student or accompanying person behaves in a disruptive, abusive, threatening, unsafe, or seriously disrespectful manner. The affected lesson will not be refunded. The student, purchaser, or parent or legal guardian is responsible for damage they cause to instruments, equipment, the teaching studio, furnishings, or other property.

Late and Returned Payments

For continuing students taking regular 30-minute, 60-minute, or group lessons: If payment for the next block or package is not received within 48 hours after the final already-paid lesson, a $25 LATE PAYMENT AND PROCESSING FEE applies to 60-minute private lessons and group lessons, and a $15 LATE PAYMENT AND PROCESSING FEE applies to 30-minute private lessons. If payment is not made on the day of the final already-paid lesson, continuity is not guaranteed. The regular lesson time may be released if payment is not received within 48 hours.

For all lesson, coaching, and gift-certificate purchases: A $20 fee applies to any returned check or reversed bank payment, in addition to the original amount due and any charge imposed by the payment provider, to the extent permitted by law.
